There are always going to be those special local businesses that go way beyond simply providing the service and goods that you need. We have mentioned Ironworks elsewhere but there are others where time, effort and friendliness are not only the norms but surpass expectations. Ajeers at Dallington are more than a reclamation yard; they are a team of skilled, knowledgeable personnel providing not only the best in reclaimed materials but service and advice with a friendly, cheerful welcoming manner. If you are doing something to your garden or house its worth going round there just to look and let your inspiration flow as you view the tremendous variety of old (& new) artefacts that could grace any garden or house. You will find everything from oak timbers, leaded windows and ceramic tiles to butler sinks, taps, fountains and garden seats.
HB Office Services are just by the pedestrian crossing at Little Common roundabout. They not only help us with copying this newsletter but also provide an all-round friendly service on anything to do with office equipment, materials and service.
Hope Farm Cottage, a superb farm shop, are situated on the Ninfield-Hooe road. With ample off-road parking you will find a very friendly atmosphere and a wide selection of fresh produce as well as groceries and pet/horse food in bulk. While they are loading up your car for you there is also the bric-a-brac section to pick up the odd bargain.
Abbey Gate Agency is in the High Street at Battle and specialises in sales and lettings. Again you will find a very friendly welcome and we are grateful to Ian & Caroline for the support they give the Charity.
Sunnyrise Nursery, Battle, has ample car parking and a prolific variety of plants conveniently displayed for easy browsing. Surprisingly there is also lots of bricabrac, to which we contribute and which is sold in aid of charities including ours. Mr & Mrs Castle are always on hand to advise on garden ideas & problems.
